Beyond Awareness: How Leaders Make Security Part of Everyday Work
Carl Jørgen Lie, KPMG, Director, Advisory - Human Capital
Om foredraget
Knowing the security rules does not always mean applying them when deadlines, competing priorities, and operational pressures shape everyday decisions.
This session explores how leaders influence security culture through their daily actions: what they prioritize, the questions they ask, the behaviours they reinforce, and how they follow up. Repeated over time, these practices shape shared expectations and habits.
Drawing on anonymized examples from leadership development programmes in the energy sector, the presentation examines what helped translate expectations into everyday behaviour, what proved difficult, and what these experiences can teach us about leading information security.
Participants will gain practical insights into how leaders can support change and build security into existing routines, decisions, and conversations.
